About Us

Wheatland Property Management was founded in 1981. Wheatland specializes in community association management. Managing community associations is all we do. We manage numerous associations of varying size.

Wheatland saw a need for professional community management many years ago. Managing an association can be a difficult and complex job. Particularly if you are a self-managed association. Board members often feel overwhelmed and sometimes unappreciated.

There are many duties and tasks board member must complete. These tasks include collecting dues, managing a budget, communicating with owners, running efficient meetings, organizing an annual meeting, property maintenance, enforcing violations, paying invoices and so on. Considering the fact that this work is primarily accomplished by a revolving group of volunteers serving as the association’s board of directors, it is not hard to understand that managing an association correctly requires time and commitment. Sometimes associations simply do not have board members that have the time and ability to perform all of these tasks consistently.

Wheatland exclusively manages community associations such as homeowner associations, condo owner associations, co-operatives, planned unit developments and so on. This narrow focus allows us to handle the many complexities and nuances related to community association management. Kansas has its own body of statutes addressing common interest ownership. In addition, each association has governing documents such as by-laws and rules and regulations. A well-managed association must operate within the framework of the governing documents and state laws.
